Our Community Meeting for the month of December took place after the servivce on December 5th, 2021. During the meeting we discussed a number of things relating to the minister search and the property search.
Firstly, in order to find a new property it was agreed by many that finding a minister or interim minister first would be the best course of action.
The property search committee is hard at work to find a permanent location suitable for all the needs expressed and predicted by members including a kitchen for serving hospitality food and beverages, an area to hold Hospitality, and maybe even a play area for children.
Despite the desire to find a permanent location quickly, it would be best to take more time and find somewhere that possessed and accommodated all of these needs. In addition an added difficulty is that many adequate properties in a 10 to 20 mile radius of Amesbury are outside of our budget.
Another topic brought up was the upcoming board elections. The board is currently short quite a few members and some have to the end of their terms, so we will need several new people to step up next year. They would appreciate any applications and interest and if you know anyone who you think would make a good board member you should encourage them to apply!
As more people would magnify and increase the energy of our services, there was also discussion about reintroducing a monthly contest for who could bring the most new people to Unity on the River.
Lastly, it was decided that rather than holding another Community Meeting the first week of January, its place should instead be taken by the Annual Meeting which will occur around the end of January or the beginning of February.
Our 2021 Annual Meeting took place on May 23rd, below is a recording of the Zoom meeting with instructions for how to vote on our new candidates for the board. A letter written by President of the Board Mark Schneider containing a detailed overview of the meeting is available as a PDF here: UOTR Annual Meeting Overview.
