Unity on the River - Transformation Experience

The Transformation Experience is a whole-ministry transformational initiative designed to create thriving ministries and enlightened leaders. This three year, full-community engagement facilitates a measurable shift in a ministry’s capacity to fulfill its mission and co-create a world that works for all. This is accomplished by integrating the wisdom and divine consciousness of the Unity movement with the leading-edge practice of the Thriving Ministry Model.

UOTR and 12 other Unity Communities have been chosen to be part of a pilot program sponsored by the Association of Unity Churches International. The three year program will include 4 visits per year with our consultant/guide Cyndi Swall, webinars, coaching and training on spiritual leadership and the creations of thriving churches.

An internal Leadership Group has been chosen to guide the Transformation Process. Jim McQuade has volunteered to head this group. Other members of the group include Rev. Shipley and Rev. Morgan, Jackie Woodside, Jane Cowan, Jean Soucy, Debra Danforth, Lesley Smith, Jack Santos, Diane Puglielli, Sheila Semanek, Eric Waleryszak, Jane Bloom, Grace Ramsey Coolidge, and Jack Santos. Our Leadership Group will be guiding the process of transformational change for the next 3 years.

An Evolutionary Council has been created to capture the heart of the community through sacred conversations with all members of our community. This council represents all areas of our current ministry and Carol Waleryzak will guide this process. Other members of the council include Cynthia Barclay, Beth Burton, Susan Coburn, Grace DiDominica, Michelle Gallant, Judy Hajjar, Darcy Johnson, Kala Kimball, Joanna McLaughlin, Arlene McNulty, Angel Mouhtouris, Barbara Parton, Nancy Reiss, Ronda Underriner, David Watt and Matthew Winston. The council will be meeting with members of the community, looking at our current experience and seeing how we align with our mission and values.

Transformational Experience Pilot Project Upcoming Activities

Sacred Conversations –Beginning January 2010
Over the course of the next several months every member of our Unity community will be asked to participate in a sacred conversation. Members of the Evolutionary Council will capture the heart of each person’s experience at UOTR. The conversations will be in small groups and informal and specific questions will be asked so that your leadership can have a clear idea of people’s experience, dreams, and vision for UOTR. This process will create input so that everyone at UOTR can be part of our transformation process. All conversations will be confidential.

Envisioning Our Future Together with Susan Beck--January 15, 2010

We at Unity on the River have a great opportunity to envision our future together as a congregation and put our mission into action! We'll be hosting a congregational gathering from 5:30 – 9:30PM on Friday, January 15th to discuss what’s most important to us as we begin to plan for our future together. The presentation with Susan Beck begins promptly at 7:00 pm and the congregant lead potluck is scheduled from 5:30 – 6:55 PM.. Sign up in fellowship or call or RSVP to info@unityontheriver.org.

All members of our community are encouraged to come and share ideas as we envison our future together. Susan Beck will lead us through an exhilarating discussion of what we, as a congregation, want to manifest in the next 10 years and beyond! It is important that we have full participation of our community. This will enable your leadership to feel the pulse of the congregation and create and achieve a shared vision of our future.

Susan is a highly skilled facilitator from the Association of Unity Churches International, and she will coach us through a process called “Envisioning our Future Together.” Susan has worked with many other ministries and groups in Unity and beyond.

“Envisioning our Future Together” will be a very energizing and uplifting experience for all of us. Mark your calendar for January 15, 2010 at 5:30 PM, a “must do”.
