In joining Unity on the River, I intend...
To Be committed: The most important requirement for membership in Unity is to a desire to know God and to understand Spiritual Law. Membership in Unity allows me to live my life according to the inspiration of the Christ within. In joining Unity I intend to make my spiritual unfoldment and my relationship with God a priority in my life.
I recognize that my presence and participation in our center is a contribution and gift that enhances the experiences of all. I recognize that together we help to keep the doors of Unity open and expand its programs and services, thereby blessing and serving thousands of others like myself. Through membership in Unity, I honor the God in me and God at work through Unity on the River.
To Be Aligned: I understand and am aligned with the basic teachings of Unity. I understand that the teachings of Unity on the River are based on a metaphysical definition of the Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ. I understand that Unity welcomes all paths to God and the teachings may refer to other paths but our main teachings are from the Bible.
To Be Engaged: I understand that the Whole Spirit of God is the true guide and director of this center. To the best of my current and evolving ability, I recognize and surrender to the Holy Spirit’s plan as I participate in making decision for the church.
To the best of my current and evolving ability, I will join my fellow congregants at Unity in creating a loving, open and warm atmosphere where all who attend regularly, or for the first time, will feel welcomed and accepted.
To the best of my current and evolving ability, I will include the church in my financial planning.
To the best of my current and evolving ability, I will include this center in my prayer life; seeing it growing and unfolding in love the Glory of God
To the best of my current and evolving ability, I will serve this ministry, at least periodically, thereby strengthening the whole family while learning the value of sacred service.
To Be Intentional: I intend to speak with constructive purpose about the church and my fellow congregants. If I experience personal upset with the church or a congregant, I will seek guidance from spirit, then speak with and resolve any upset with the person(s) involved.
If I should choose to leave Unity, I will communicate this information to a board member or to the minister, either in written form or in person. I understand that Unity values my membership and would like to both bless me on my journey and to hear my concerns or plans.
What I Can Expect: As a result of my joining this community, I can expect to receive an abundance of love, friendship, empowerment, spiritual upliftment and educational support. I will expect to grow and become more fulfilled and prosperous. I expect to grow in my understanding that I am a precious child of God, loved and accepted for who I am and supported in my journey by this center.
