Unity members get first-hand look at Katrina's devastation, two years later

AMESBURY - Just a few weeks ago, nine members of Unity On The River returned home from Biloxi, Miss., where they were assisting with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts two years after floods devastated the area. Unity, which welcomes people of all faiths, has tried to expand its outreach mission from local to national projects.

Church asked, received, gave back

AMESBURY - Unity on the River is full of art, from clay figures to colorful paintings. But churchgoers yesterday were treated to more prosaic works of art - portraits of Andrew Jackson.
In a gesture that surprised and delighted the congregation, the church "retithed" each attendant of yesterday's services $20.
